Apple Picker
A mouse-controlled catching game with scoring, lives, and increasing difficulty.
Unity 6000.0.44f1Game prototype10 coursework scripts
Overview
A Unity coursework prototype built around a moving apple tree and player-controlled baskets. The project connects collision handling, a score display, saved high scores, and a game-over scene into a small arcade game loop.
Implementation highlights
- Catching and scoring. Basket.cs maps the mouse position into world space, detects apple collisions, awards points, and triggers catch audio.
- Lives and game flow. ApplePicker.cs creates a stack of baskets, removes a basket after a missed apple, and moves to the game-over scene when none remain.
- Difficulty progression. DifficultyManager.cs changes the tree speed and drop interval over time; HighScore.cs persists the best score with PlayerPrefs.
